About AIDA and the AIDA Business DirectoryThe Australia-Indonesia Development Area (AIDA) is a joint Australian-Indonesian government initiative to develop closer business and economic relations between Australia and 15 provinces in eastern Indonesia. See November 1998 Media Release and Keynote Address by The Hon Alexander Downer, MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to the seminar on the Australia-Indonesia Development Area (AIDA), Sydney, 14 May 1997 for an historical perspective. The aim of the AIDA Business Directory is to assist the matching of Australian and Indonesian business partners. Listed Indonesian firms can promote their businesses to prospective Australian buyers, suppliers and business partners. The time-consuming and expensive process of searching for potential Indonesian business partners is made easier for Australian firms. The Indonesian businesses listed in the AIDA Business Directory have accepted the invitation to be included. The listing of a business indicates a firm's interest in doing business with Australian firms. Australian firms wishing to find out more about a listed business can contact that business direct. Some background reading on doing business in Indonesia, especially in eastern Indonesia, is recommended. See References, Contacts and Doing Business in Indonesia. There is also a hard copy version of the directory. |
